If we can get there, we will! Just depends what date you eventually choose...
Blipmeet in the Lakes, sometime 25th Feb - 2nd March 2017?
We're regular visitors to the Lakes and I know there are many blippers who live there or travel there regularly. Our next visit is at the end of February. Anyone interested in a blip meet sometime that week? Should I just pick at date?

Again depending on the date but I would like to be there.
It would be so nice to see you both again but I can only manage 28th 1st and 2nd.
We are fairly free that week so far but will need to book accommodation so a date would be good.
we will be in the UK end of June 2017.... possible meeting
flying out of Manchester
1st March would be best day for us!
Keep me informed, if possible I would like to come along. Any day except Thursday is usually ok with me.
Hi everyone, looking at the replies, how about Wednesday 1st March for a Blipmeet?
I have put it in the diary, all being well hubby and I should be there. Just need time and place. Thank you.
The 1st March would be fine for me and possibly my brother as well.
Yes, I can do the 1st.
That's good for us. Whereabouts were you thinking of meeting? Just thinking about accommodation.
Where? 2nd March.
Hi Tryfan46. Are we still aiming for the 1st?
Ideally the place we meet should have good parking, a picturesque, easy walk and a pub/café. (I think cake may also be a basic requirement, but I'm not the expert on that! LOL)
By meeting/ending at a pub/café blippers who are unable to do a big walk can still get a chance to meet everyone and maybe do a short bit of the walk.
Thanks everyone for feedback on the blipmeet on 1st March. Clickychick suggested we need a convenient place to meet. So I'm proposing the Aira Force National Trust site on the shores of Ullswater. There's a cafe open from 10.30 to 4.30, loads of short walks and longer ones too as well as the NT carpark.
Shall we meet at 10.30 just in time for the tea room to open?
The carpark is at the junction of A5091 and A592 opposite the lake shore. OS GR NY399205
Looking forward to seeing you all.
Aira sounds good to us, is it a cafe or just a shop on that car park, not a problem as we can bring picnic or move on for food. The car park is good for seeing birds as there are seats by the feeders which are by the stone walls so it is fairly easy to get natural looking pics for those who can't walk far. Hope the weather is going to be kind.
Sorry can't make 1 March. Have a good day. You have chosen an ideal venue.
Great iconic Lake District place to meet! Since last year, it's even possible to reach the shore from the car park.
No worries about getting a simple lunch. They do soup, sandwiches scones and cakes (yes, hildasrose, they have cake!) The car park, paths and café have been newly built so not like you may remember it from years ago.
If you have an NT or NTS membership, display your card and avoid parking costs!
See you then, Jerra and I will be there, maybe +1
We will be there!
I can confirm that our +1 will be coming! It's Kanyl, The Bro-in-Law, whose wife died before Christmas.
I would like to come on 1st March but it will depend on weather as would be travelling from Yorkshire. Hubby may drop me at Glendinning and go off to do Helvellyn so if anyone is coming through that way and could give me a lift, it would be appreciated!
Can I just warn everyone that today, Tuesday, 28th the road to Ullswater was closed. Those coming from the east will see the notice at the Rheged roundabout on the A66. Carry on until you get to the A5091, Troutbeck. That will bring you down to the A592 on the shore of Ullswater just beside the Aira Force car park, just drive around the Road Closed sign to get into the car park.
Coming from the west, don't risk going all the way to Rheged. turn right down the A5091 at Troutbeck.
I see Wendles56 needs help with transport from Glenridding.
Tony will drop me at Aira Force but will he be able to get to Glendinning as he plans to do Helvellyn?
Wendles56 if he drops you at the bottom of the A5091 beside the Aira force car park, he can continue along the lakeside to Glenridding. The road closure is from the car park towards Penrith.
Looking at the Council suggests he will be able to turn south/right at the junction and continue on to Glenridding so no problem.
THANKYOU chickychick, we must have been typing at the same time! See you tomorrow!
