Yes, another meet in Edinburgh is a very good idea. Unfortunately, I don't think these newsgroups work. I'm not sure what's the best way to organise one.
Blipmeet Edinburgh, perhaps?
Is it time for another Edinburgh Blipmeet? I bet there are lots of Blippers visiting the city over the next few weeks.

Yes, and yes to what Ford said. Perhaps best way is to suggest a few possible dates/times here and then we can all spread the word via our blip journals?
I'd be up for that if the dates work.
Hi, I'm new to Blipmeets, I'd like to attend if there is one.
It's only because I noticed the blog from Blip about a survey that I wondered if I had discovered all there is to know on this site - so I looked around for other features, otherwise I wouldn't have known this was there!
I'll need to post a message about it.
Happy to risk a day in the Big City for a good cause, if the date is OK.
Would love to come to Edinburgh, but not over the summer...
Not visited since my childhood ;)
Maybe a good idea to put it on the Facebook 'Blipfoto Friends' page?
How about 12th August?
The 12th is good for me. What sort of time and place?
I wondered if 3 would be good (but it will clash for some with football), or 11 on the morning (a clash with Queen's Hall concert for others). What do you reckon - no time will be perfect.?
Place - i reckoned outdoors if possible (assuming festival crowds will make taking over a cafe or pub impossible); probably a walk round an interesting bit of the city and one thst has enough cafe capacity to cope if we need to retreat indoors. I've suggested Botanics/Stockbridge, or Leith. Again, opinions welcome.
Once i'm sure of time and place, i can put it on the Nlipfoto favebook page (though i couldn't see a way to post there when i looked earlier/.
Could do 12th August, either am or pm. Botanics is (are?) a good idea, I'd have thought. Or Leith....or perhaps Portobello (the seaside!). Just thinking of places that won't be overrun with festival goers.
Botanics East Gate 10am
Depending on the weather....sit and talk in the Botanics Cafe (up the hill) or walk and talk round the Botanics.
If people want to keep going, there are many routes to continue on from there - Inverleith and Stockbridge; Water of Leith to Leith or the other direction to the Modern Art Gallery and beyond; Inner Tube cycle path to Granton and Cramond or to the Sculpture Workshop.
OK, 10 am on 12th August at the East gate, I'll be there. Probably DaveH too, now I've told him about it! I'll try to remember to wear my old Blipfoto t-shirt for ID purposes....
Sorry I won't make this one as not in town that day, otherwise would have liked to come along.
12th August, Botanics East Gate, 10 am. If the weather is inclement, cafe up the hill at Inverleith House.
And there is the wee cafe beside the East gate - seats and tables outside would be good place to wait if weather clement!
I've put a note of the blipmeet at the end of my journal for yesterday, and will carry on till the day as i think you are right that few people visit this page.
Yes, shall put note on own blips too - I notice Shandonner has already done this! Was intending to do myself yesterday but had an annoying Blip issue (it inserted a couple of photos on the wrong dates), which they're still investigating.
Are the parking charges round the Botanics in force on the weekend?
I don't think so. I don't have a car now, so no longer pay attention to the details, but from the info on the council website, i'd say not, or if you have to pay it looks like £3 per day.
Don't know details of charging, but think there's generally more parking space available near the West Gate (Arboretum Road?) rather than the E gate entrance.
I look at this page periodically and hope to make this.
Unable to do that date, another time. Have a good day everyone!
Think I posted somewhere that I expect to be there. Apologies for any duplication. Lots of senior moments these days.
All being well I will be there. Not been to the Botanics in ages...
Unplanned events have somewhat caught up with us - how come we never remember that guests always turn up at very short notice during the festival period? So I won't be able to join the blip-wander round the gardens - but I'll still try to be there for the start just to say hello!
I'm sorry but I'm going to have to pull out of this one. I was rather ill earlier in the week and, although I'm just about better now, I'm still very wary about straying too far from a toilet. It looks as though you have a good crowd and the weather forecast is o.k, so I hope you have a good day.
Sorry, I'm a call off - flat tyre and now too late to get a train. Apologies to all.
Grand to see folk today. Thanks for organising Hell4Murph.
There may be others, but here's a blip https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2343146610483004889 of some of the attendees. The list I took down included:
It was good to meet you all!
