Hi folks,
My name is Andy Coffey and I am the Community Manager.
I apologise for any confusion caused over the Bored Panda article, which was posted on the 13th of February. Bored Panda is one of the social media channels that we use in order to share great content from Blip (alongside the likes of Twitter, Facebook and Google+). As in all these channels, we always attach a credit to the Blipper who created the content. That particular site requires the poster to use an individual name, hence why my name was attached to the piece.
The Big Moment idea - and the results that the community generated - has been really well received. However, we didn’t reach out to the Daily Mail to share the story with them.
As you know, we never give out details of any of users to the press without express permission from the Blippers themselves. It seems on this occasion that the journalist has reached out to a small number of Blippers directly by using the email address that they chose to include on their profile page.
Normally publications would come directly to us, allowing us to agree usage (or not), unfortunately this did not happen on this occasion.
Once again I’m sorry for any confusion caused and please feel free to contact me at andy@polaroidblipfoto.com if you have any further questions.
Kind regards,
Andy
