Photo size on laptop

I feel bad for immediately posting a criticism of the new look. I want to give it more time to explore how it works, but this jumped out straight away. My only computer is a 13" Macbook Pro. On a single entry page, I cannot see the whole photo on the screen -- either top or bottom is chopped off (this is without viewing large). This is a huge negative. Weirdly, when I view large, the photo is actually smaller, so I can see it all, if I'm prepared to click large on every single photo (no L keyboard shortcut any more). This entry is a fine example of the problem:

hmm, no way of putting links in this post??

Hi - sorry for the time it's taken to respond. But we've been listening very closely to the feedback. This is an issue that we have pushed up the 'fix' ladder...

The tech guys have been looking hard into this over night and we hope to be able to introduce an update to the site later today/tomorrow.

This will ensure that when the image loads on your screen, it's never taller than the height of your screen (unless, for example, your using a mobile screen on landscape)!

Thanks for the feedback.

I have exactly the same problem - and the same laptop. Hope there will be a solution soon - like this so much gets lost.... :-(

Same on the iPad. Perhaps when the apps are released they'll solve this for devices, but that doesn't help with laptops.

I have the same problem and its a BIG negative as it impacts badly on the experience if you can't see the whole image. I'm using an iMac with a 21 inch screen, same happens on iPad on landscape orientation so it's not screen size (fine on iPhone in portrait orientation, unless image is portrait too). I know there will be a snag list to work on for the new site but this is something you need to sort quickly!

Yeah, this is kind of strange. Especially given the dynamic sizing/positioning of thumbnails, which seem to adapt well to different screen/window sizes.

I see partial pictures on a 1600x900 pixel laptop screen, and complete pictures on a 2560x1440 desktop. Both running Windows.

It is terrible that you can't see the whole photo on a screen....this is a photo site and we need to be able to see the whole pic not scroll up and down to get the entire image :((

Agreed completely. I'm sure you will fix this. It's impossible to get everything right first time with a major rewrite such as this

I have a 22 inch screen and still cannot see full photos unless I clcick on the full screen option each time (which shrinks the image to fit my screen). Err, we're not doing too well here guys!
I am quite happy with change - when it works! But so far this beast doesn't.

I can see the whole image on my phone (Samsung Note) and on my tablet (Samsung) - but not on my PC. Hopeless.
