Dear BlipCentral
I dare say ZenDesk is a very fine product for its intended purpose -- a helpdesk/FAQ system. But I am really hoping you are only using it as a stopgap for communication between blippers. I read somewhere that you felt the old forums were underused because they were "too difficult". They were a darn sight better than this. The old interface was the same as for posting comments on blips, so if you could post a comment, you could figure out how to post to a forum, and the forums were easily accessible from the main blip site.
I also thought one of your stated aims of the redesign was to enhance the community aspects of Blipfoto. If this is the only venue for general discussion between blippers, you are quickly going to destroy the sense of community. I didn't use the old forums that much, but if I wanted friendly, expert advice on kit or techniques, I knew I would get answers there. Challenges were easy to follow and post to. As for Add Three Words, if you tried that here it would get totally surreal as posts were shuffled into random order as people clicked the up/down vote buttons.
I accept this won't be a priority, there are more important issues right now, but it would be nice to have some reassurance that this isn't what we are faced with for community interaction.

Hi guys, more on the ZENDESK thing.
It seems to request another sign in?
Also the avatar that displays is a very old one of me and not one the same one as on hte main site.
I'm sure you're aware but navigation back to the main site is not obvious.
Hi Tonto - the Zendesk functionality is very much work in progress...
I really hope you mean 'enhance' and not 'enforce'!
Gosh, if you visit the Zendesk product page it is spookily like the new Blipfoto site. Surely this couldn't be the reason for the re-branding?
Well said Veronica. This off-the-shelf system is a poor choice, and is not fit for purpose on Blipfoto. As Graham (whose name I can just about make out against the site-wide white background)... As Graham says, Zendesk's product page is strangely familiar looking, while the thrust of its marketing pitch is fundamentally antipathetic to Blipfoto's established ethos. Not good.
I agree with all this. WHY do I have to sign in again anyway? The up-voting thing is madness as the comments get all jumbled up and the thread is completely lost.
