The counters are not working properly. Apparently Blip Central are aware of this issue but seem to be unable to resolve it thus far.

Stars Not Showing Up
For example, on my blip for today 29thDec, I have notification that 3 people have given my pic a star - while the counter shows as only one? Could you please check and/or explain. Thanks, Ros
