When I go to my profile I am shown as "From United Kingdom" - fair enough this is correct. If I click on this I get a map of the UK with a marker near Leeds. Zooming in I find this is near Huddersfield. Huddersfield is about 120 miles by road from my home. Even more interesting in the top right corner is a thumbnail by a blipper I have never heard of.
Zoom in a bit further and it turns into a number of markers which if you click on one you get a thumbnail from another blipper - again one I have never heard of.
Can somebody [lease explain what is the purpose of this map? Apart from showing somebody from some far flung part of the world a map of UK it seems to serve no purpose with respect to my profile.
Am I missing something and if so How do I use this map?

I don't think it's intended to show where you specifically are (and I wouldn't want it to do that). But I'm blowed if I can figure out how they choose the pins to show. If I look at the map of France, my blips are entirely absent as are those of every other French blipper I know. The few pins there are link to blips over two years old. Can BlipCentral please explain how we're supposed to use this?
I am not suggesting it would show exactly where a blipper lives but the pins I investigated showed (some of them) a single blipper and blips spread around an area. I see no problem with that. I don't geo tag any shot which might be too near my home.
