Request Pending

There is a blipper with one of these "protected" journals. I sent a follow request but after a couple of weeks now, it is still "Request Pending".

So now I have to wonder - did they miss this request and now it is buried in a long list of favs and stars? Or have they been too busy to respond and maybe not even been on the site for a couple of weeks? Or are they not interested? Or ... ??

If they are not interested, this is all well and good. I am assuming they have the option of saying no and the request is dropped, not left pending - please say this is so!

I understand if they've been away, but there is no way to tell this (from outside here where I sit in purgatory :(

But what if the request is simply lost in the noise of other messages? What can I do now? I'd love to be able to "tickle" the request. Might even mean cancelling it and resubmitting it.

Yes, I can see your dilemma. There IS no way of knowing with this set up ... Just another function not thought through properly...

I find the flurry of 'star' notifications is distracting so that I miss other more important messages (bipdays, favs) . After all, stars can be awarded as many times a day as you like. Even people who are not members seem to be able to award them now, so, while they're appreciated, they're not exactly STOP PRESS. I don't know how people who get dozens of stars each time can keep track...
