Full Membership Advantages?

Like lots of people I received an email saying that as a new user I had been given a three month free full membership.
Can someone please tell me (or give me a link to follow) what the advantage of this is?
Because I'm a new member I'd like to know what features I will lose if I don't pay to become a member.
Thanks in advance

i think they're giving three month extensions for a reason. i have been told (directly) that i should give them three months - this was from the beginning of the year - to roll out all of the features which they have chosen to bring back and the new features they are adding.

i think at the end of the three months they will make it clear what will be free benefits and what features will be for paid members only. at least that's the distinct impression i was given from staff.

Ah, that makes sense, hopefully it will happen that way.
I appreciate you replying to my question. :)

I'd guess it's a marketing ploy. If you don't have the full membership features (that I could understand under the old system when I first enrolled as a free member) it's hard to know what it would be like not to be a member so you might think it worthwhile carrying on with what you have. The reality is that you don't (or didn't) get very much for stepping up to full membership - a few status extras, ability to award hearts, see your pic larger and suchlike. I did so because I wanted to support the site and liked the idea of being a card-carrying member of a community. I'm not sure I'd feel the same if I encountered the site anew. I would see how you feel in three month's time.

It's a shame that there's been such an upheaval with the changes they have made. Fingers crossed they get everything sorted back to how it was with some good extras thrown in. I hope it doesn't put too many people off as I'm discovering that there's a lovely community feeling with the site.

Thanks for answering my question, hopefully everything will work itself out.
