If you are not in a rush my slow method gives good results.
I have saved my entire journal by saving each page in the browser separately. I use Foxfire browser on an iMac. On each page I scrolled down a bit to open the comments and prefixed the title with the 6-digit date, YYMMDD, to keep them in order. My journal has well over 2000 entries so it took a while, but each entry has the standard image and the large image, the text, tags, stars, hearts and all the comments. The set is searchable and can be viewed offline.
The thumbnails I save 18 at a time from Browse>Me screen. They have the titles and the dates.
There is a new updated version of my software referred to by Subjunctive at http://www.gp-it.co.uk/backblip/beta/backblip.exe
It has much more functionality including a browser of your downloaded journal and the ability to create a pdf of your journal
I am still waiting for feedback before taking it off the 'beta' list
Thanks LooseCanon your backblip software worked perfectly for my journal of nearly 600 entries. It was less than20 minutes to download, scan, install and run to get my backup. Then I added today's entry in 10 seconds. I really rate it highly.
Corvidfiesta - Thanks for the feedback. I presume you are referring to the new version that I posted the link to above.
Yes I used the new version, no hassle at all
Thanks LooseCanon - I've got all my entries backed up now. But I'm not quite sure how I add new entries to it - do I just click "Get Journal" again?
You beauty LooseCanon. After a few attempts I finally got all my blips backed up, all 2415 of them, and images, that's brilliant. Thanks!
Fine to know there is a way to save journals, but HOW do we do it from that exe file please?
Honeycombebeach - assuming you are using a windows PC, you just run the exe file and it will install Backblip on your PC. You can then run it from the start menu
I have a MacBook Pro so not sure how to run the Blipsave on that - so if anyone can help would be most grateful.
Honeycombebeach - Unfortunately Backblip will not work with Mac OS.
However it runs perfectly on a Mac if, like me, you have Windows running under Parallels or Bootcamp.
I guess that doesn't apply to you. Perhaps you have a friend with Windows who would run it for you
