Any Blippers in the Cornwall/Devon area keen to meet?

It might be interesting to meet occasionally for a pub lunch, perhaps.

Perhaps somewhere in the Barbican, or Royal William Yard - Barbican better for pubs, I think, though I'm only a newcomer in the area!

It took me forever to find my way back here!

I suppose the 'Cornwall' thing caught my interest but Plymouth is not good for me. Its an 80 mile round trip and I never 'need' to go there!

Plymouth is probably a bit far for me too but I'm up for a Cornwall meet.

Seascapes - I have Eden tickets and Lost Gardens of Heligan winter passes so either of those are good for me if you fancy it?

(I'm in Falmouth)

Let's start the auction!! Seascapes will make it to Heligan, and so will I. Any other takers? And while we're at it, are we talking midweek (favourite - crowds) or weekends?

Heligan it is :-)

Weekends will involve my 4 children, weekdays are time limited due to school runs. I definitely can't do Wednesday's.

I would prefer Heligan on a weekday as opposed to a weekend. But can live with a weekend if the majority want that.

So it's getting there - Heligan, midweek.

Which day is best (other than Wednesday)? I would prefer either a Monday or a Thursday but can do Tuesday/Friday if needed.

Is next week too soon?!

Just a suggestion and I'm flexible about time and day, but how about Thursday 22nd Jan at the restaurant/Tea Room at about midday?

I'm in! I will probably go straight from school drop off so will be at Heligan from 10ish but very content in my own company until midday :-)

Thursday at Heligan is good for me. Meet in cafe at 12ish.
However if the weather is terrible I'm not driving all the way from Honiton.

I might well be there earlier as well - weather dependent, naturally. Suggest we email here if the conditions are dodgy - might save a wasted and dangerous journey for someone.

Suggestion re emailing - not easy for me as I can't find my way to here on my phone - only on my fixed PC!!!!!! And sometimes I can't even find my way here!

We could somehow maybe privately organise texting?

Just to say I've had a look on the Heligan website and they say their SHOP will be closed on Thursday 22nd and there will be a reduced service in their tearoom!!! Does this deter anyone from coming?

Well spotted. In view of the fact that several of us will be travelling for an hour or more to get there, and would be less than impressed by a glass of water and a curly sandwich, perhaps it would be better to postpone the meet until the following week, Thursday 29th Jan. Anyone disagree?

I don't KNOW that a 'reduced' tea room service will mean water and a curly sandwich! But I did think that the shop (plus plant centre) is large and light and warm in case of a grey/wet day, so the closed shop would be more of an inconvenience fro those travelling a good distance.

I can do 29th January as well.

Hi - its Wednesday at 5pm-ish. The forecast for tomorrow looks pretty grim - very cold wind, with showers that could turn to hail or snow for further up towards Devon. And hardly any sun..They could be wrong of course. I'm happy to come but I only have a short drive. I wouldn't mind if the Devon people aren't keen for tomorrow. Its seems there are only four of us. So if anyone wants to try a different date please say, or otherwise I'll see people tomorrow?

Weather is terrible and I don't want a 200 mile in these conditions .
I suggest we hold off until the spring.
