How does search work now?

How do I search for photos of a specific tag only?
I used to use by janeth tagged "X" where X was what I wanted to find. Links that I put on my blips like that no longer work. I've tried a few things. The nearest I got was when I used # but that also picked up when the phrase was used within journal text as well, which therefore gave a lot more pictures that I didn't want to display as part of this process. Do all searches check journal text as well as tags? Is there a way of limiting it to tags only?

'tagged X by X' or 'by X tagged X' should still work... I've just tried it on my entries and worked fine. (The # is an alternative for writing 'tagged' in full - so should both work the same. The same way that '@' is an alternative to 'by') If you don't add 'tagged' (or #) then the search will search the full text. I hope that makes sense!

You should find that #tagname works. For example:

https://www.blipfoto.com/search/entries?q=%23blue

finds anything tagged as blue. Notice there's no space between the # and the tagname. When you add a tag to a photo, don't include the #.

If you want only photos by you, you can search #tagname @me. Or any other journal name, e.g. #tagname @blipcentral to find blips by BlipCentral. It's similar to how it used to work, they have just switched to Twitter-style tags and usernames.

Thankyou Veronica but it still doesn't work properly. It brings up more of my pictures than it should ie also ones that weren't given that tag. It also didn't work the way round you suggested and I had to include "

The time element of the previous search doesn't seem to work now. Adding "this week" would have returned any of this week's uploads, but now it's returning everything.

@JanetH Bummer :( From curiosity I had a look at a few of your recent blips and none of them had any tags at all, so no wonder searching tags doesn't work. Perhaps they've thrown all your tags away during the transfer :-0
