In the meantime, no – we haven’t sold the company. Blipfoto has formed a partnership with Polaroid. The two companies have agreed to work together to develop and grow Blipfoto, and take the service to a much wider audience worldwide. We realised we could do so much more by joining forces than we ever could individually.

Polaroid's name comes first on the "blipfoto" website; that seems ominous, as that is usually the position held by the dominant partner...

I was sad - I'm now appalled.
When I post on Blip I do NOT want to advertise anyone but I no longer have a choice but to advertise Polaroid every time. I genuinely think they should have consulted the Blip community, especially those of us who have become members before they took this decision. It’s another example of a multinational muscling in on a not for profit community.
I’m currently tagging my posts with #WTF!Polaroid!

My initial reaction was annoyance, but I guess we'd better wait and see ... For a site that prided itself on no ads, it's a bit much having Polaroid logos everywhere you look.

No answer - just would like you to consider that some of us work with an extremely slow internet connection that cannot stream vimeo, so are unable to view Joe's latest message. How about a written communication for those of us who are country based and don't have the advantages of your fast internet speeds.

12 months from now blip will no longer exist. Polaroid Blipfoto will become Polaroid foto and then just polaroid.
