Putting a link

On the old site, you could first select the word or words you wanted to be highlighted for the link, then open the link box and put in the link (I never had any trouble with the http//:), click it and presto, it worked fine.

I think that proper behavior returned for a few days but now it seems to be gone again. The only way of putting in the text seems to be to put it in the link box, but then the link doesn't go in the right place--it ends up at the beginning of the paragraph where the cursor was, so the link has to be moved.

Ridiculous--I have spent so much time altogether trying to figure things out and messaging. And still no idea when things will get better.
