Moray Blipmeet at the beginning of April

Hi, I'll be on holiday in Cullen from the 2nd of April until the 9th and thought it would be fun to have a Blipmeet while I'm there. A coffee (or something more substantial) and a photwalk would be ideal and I'm open to any location as far as Inverness. I know there are a feew Blippers around, so if you could spread the word please. Are there any takers?

Hi TrikinDave,

There are quite a number of Blippers around the Inverness and Black Isle area. Will give your proposed Blipmeet "a plug" via my main journal (PeninsulaLight), so more of them should see it, and maybe spread the word.

Best wishes,
Film

No response from anybody else yet Hana, but your plan seems good to me. We can decide on the day and exact details nearer the time and could work together on the current project from Emma. That's assuming your happy with it just being a twosome. If you're not, please let me know.
Cheers,
Dave.

Dave, if it turns out that it is just you and I, I will still be happy to go ahead, if you are. I am looking forward to it, and especially as you are so knowledgeable!

I'd be interested. Tuesdays aren't the best, and as long as it's not too early a start . . . I'd have to drive down from Wick, which is about 2 1/4 hours north of Inverness.

That would swell our numbers all the way up to three but I'm sure we can avoid the Tuesday. It seems a long way to travel for you so we'd better make it worth your while. Look forward to seeing you.
Dave.

Welcome Houseonahill6, you bring us up to four. It looks as though we don't meet on the Tuesday, but the plan is to have coffee with HKSAS a few miles south of Nairn, (MReid has a two and a half hour drive to reach us,) and then go on a photo walk that could take four hours if people are able, but we will have wheels and can drive to a suitable start point if that is too much. Perhaps it would be an idea if everybody gave days and times that would be suitable. I'll be on holiday so any time would be o.k. for me.

Hi again. I'll just clarify that I can do a Tuesday if that's the best day, I'd just prefer another day (it's the day I volunteer at the museum).

How about Thursday, 7th April. !0.30. Laikenbuie, IV12 5QN. Coffee followed by a wander around the Croft and then head to Cawdor to take photos around the village, Castle (Castle Gardens if possible) and the woods. Just a suggestion? There are facilities at Cawdor Shop, e.g. comfortable chairs, open fire, coffee and a bathroom.

Hello,
I do nt drive so my husband Mike will be coming too. He has a phone call at 10 on Thursday but we can leave after and meet you at Cawdor at around 12 o clock. Not sure if the castle is open yet though but still a great place for a wander and plenty of photo opportunities :)

That sounds good! Houseonahill, if you need a lift I'll be more or less passing - it's only a short diversion off the A9.

Hello MReid, Thank you for your kind offer. I'll probably go with Mike but if things change I'll let you know :) Karen

Hi Dave. I am afraid that I can no longer come to your Blip Meet, so can you arrange another place to meet? Sorry not to be meeting you, I hope you have a great holiday and Blip Meet.

As you may have seen, HKSAS can't make Thursday and we were planning to meet at her home. I'm still game to go ahead and suggest meeting at the Basil Harbour Cafe, 134 Harbour Street, Nairn, IV12 4PH at 10:00am for coffee, and then go for a photo-walk. We can decide exactly what on the day and, after that, stop for a meal somewhere. If nobody turns up I'll probably go on to Fort George or Fortrose and see if I can spot any dolphins; If they don't come out to play then I'm sure that there's plenty to see.

How about this , Meet at Cromarty Harbour at 12 which should give you enough time for your coffee and a few photos in Nairn :) A walk round the town, Lots of photo opportunities in Cromarty from rusty tin sheds, the rigs to elegant houses and sea views.A chance to see dolphins there too. Also some good places for lunch. Then back to Chanonry point with a hope the dolphins might be there :) What do you think ?

O.k. I'll be bringing my wife, Barbara, not a blipper but has been known to take some nice pictures. It's the best part of 2 hours drive from Deskford, so we'll probably go straight there and have a coffee in either Sutor's or the Pantry. My number is 07808 071724 if we miss one another. MReid (Littoral) said she'd come and PeninsulaLight said he'd spread the word. I'll go ahead and contact them.
