I have just noticed your post. Afraid I can't help as it isn't a problem either I or my wife have ever experienced.
But at least now you know it isn't happening to everybody.

thumbnail crop issue
for the last couple of days the thumbnail crop thingy when uploading photos doesn't actually show the photo...is anyone else having this problem...makes cropping a bit hit and miss!

Still happens to me, too. I shrink the little rectangle using the corners down to a small or smallest square and click on "use thumbnail" (can't remember exact wording) and when posted, it shows the original image outline.
Some have seemed to work, but totally inconsistent. Any ideas?
