Gloucester Area in the UK Blipmeet

I haven't yet met anyone else that does Blipfoto.
If anyone fancies a blip meet up we could do it at the Jet Age Museum, on the opposite side of Gloucestershire (Staverton) Airport from the terminal, it's opposite the white Dowty office building.
I'll see what the reaction is before setting a date but possibly sometime in April or May?

I'd certainly be interested. Somewhat date and time dependent, due to family commitments, but I look forward to seeing a plan!

4's enough but I'll hang on and see if anyone turns up during the next week or two and then look for a date to suit all.
Thanks for getting back to me, I was quite surprised at how quick you all responded.
Cheers

I might be interested, Gloucester is about an hour from me in Newbury (I think); depends on the day though as I work all week (and now Bank Holidays as well).

Well, I didn't expect so may responses, thanks very much.

I cant do anything before or during Easter as I have two RBL Riders events on 26 and 28th and family Dinner on Easter Sunday.

How about Saturday 02 April meeting at 10:00 at the Jet Age Museum in Gloucester? I suggest the museum because it's a great place to visit (2nd only to the Cathedral in Gloucestershire), it has a cafe and 10:00 is usually fairly quiet but it gets busier later on.
Let me know if this is ok for you.
Cheers
Dave

Forgot to put details for the museum -
http://www.jetagemuseum.org
Meteor Business Park, Cheltenham Road East, Gloucester, GL2 9QL

It's opposite the white Safran/Messier/Dowty building and behind the brand new 'Triumph' aircraft factory (used to be the site of Golden Castle motorhomes sales site).

2nd April at 10am sounds good to me (even though I know nothing about jet engines, something new :) ) :)

Looking good, see you all on Saturday 02 April.
The Museum opens at 10:00 so if you are a little later than that it's not a problem, I expect we'll be there for a couple of hours.
I really appreciate the response, quite unexpected.
Looking forward to meeting up.
Best wishes
Dave

If you saw my message saying I can't make it on the 2nd please ignore it (that didn't last long did it).
We can go to the wedding thing on the Friday evening instead but our daughter just told us that!!
I was a bit quick off the mark saying I can't do it.
Sorry once again and looking forward to meeting everyone.

Oh good. I'm in Manchester on the 9th for our daughter's first marathon on the 10th. Planning to attend on 2nd, subject only to "events".

So glad its still on on the 2nd! I can't do the 9th due to the fact I'll be sleeping before a Street Pastors night shift...

If anyone revisited the Jet Age Museum during the weekend of 9/10 April, during their 75th anniversary of the first jet flight, could you please let me know.
My friend, Mike Fortescue (who was on reception when we visited on the 02 April), went up in the autogyro with his son piloting for the first time since obtaining his licence.
He's wondering if anyone has any photographs they could pass on to him as his father did the same, first flight passenger after Mike got his licence in 1970. Quite a wonderful family connection, it would be nice if he had a photograph of both events side by side.

Thanks very much
Dave
