Newcastle blipmeet, 21 July

Just to confirm that there's a blipmeet planned for 21 July in Newcastle upon Tyne/Gateshead, meeting at the Sage at 11 am and hopefully going on to see some of the "Exhibition of the North" exhibits.

(I started off trying to organise a blipmeet in May, see the post below where we then decided to postpone it to 21 July; to avoid confusion I've started a new post about it here.)

Hi SLR10218,

So sorry I missed seeing your query, I've been doing a lot of travelling and I missed it until kind Shygirl73 pointed it out to me today.

It's hard to know when we'll finish, or where we'll end up. I'm thinking that we'll have coffee at the Sage at 11am, then maybe move on to the Baltic to look round there, and maybe then have lunch ?there. After that, if folks want to stay longer we could wander further afield round some of the Great North Exhibition venues.

Will you be coming far? If not, I could give you my mobile number and you could check about 1pm-ish to see what we're doing. Let me know. Hope this helps.

REMINDER: don't forget the blipmeet starting at the Sage this Saturday at 11am. Any problems, email me at davidcblipper@gmail.com - all being well I should be able to respond even on the day, if you can't find us - as long as we don't go anywhere without a phone signal.

Please Note: Blipper Dollydoug has kindly mentioned that Newcastle Pride takes place on Saturday.  The Parade leaves the Civic Centre at 12 noon, moves down Northumberland Street and then around town and up towards Nuns Moor Park where the music and concerts are held.  There may be extra travellers on public transport so it may be worth taking that into account in your plans.

NB I see there's an Americana weekend at the Sage this weekend - I hope it won't cause us a problem. I think it's basically an evening "do" so we should be OK. If for some reason we can't get to the cafe, or it's too crowded, I suggest we meet outside the Sage at the Baltic end, above the car park. Any problems, email me on davidcblipper@gmail.com. Thanks!
