Ha! Ha! This has baffled us all for years, I will be interested in any knowledgeable replies you get. In the old days it used to be called Spotlight and it seemed to be a combination of views and comments. Then suddenly it changed after a Blipmeet in Joe's Office.
I remember once being in a forum (as we used to call these chats) and being assured that folk saying "Thank you" "Thank you" "Thank you" when replies were introduced would not have their popular status elevated by their own comments on their pages.
But who knows? Certainly not me!
