About picture quality and words used.

I'm thinking about resolution, size, USM etc. My pics look good on my screen. Then they are soft and muddy here! :-(
What am I doing wrong? Like in Facebook, one has to get the idea of 2048 basic resolution times X and quality becomes better.
What is the best way technically to post in Blip?  No USM? How's the area of RGB? sRGB ? Physical size? Or only the megabytes matter?
How is it allowed to write about pictures of other people. Is trying to help allowed? Is any kind of criticism allowed at all? Should feedback only be positive like "great capture, wonderfull colors" etc...? Just asking cause never been on a site like this.
Sorry about mistakes, English is only my third foreign language.

I have no idea about the technical aspects of making photos look better on the screen, but I can share my observations on comments.

I think it would be wise to establish an understanding with a user before providing criticism of their photos. This is because the purpose of the site is primarily about a very personal documentation of the user's experiences, rather than a photo exhibition per se. The journaling aspect is also just as important to many users, and again this can be very personal. Would anyone really want critical feedback on a diary?

Personally, I think it would add something to the site if there was a forum for more critical feedback on photography. I'm just too lazy to do anything about it! Maybe a weekly or monthly challenge that was specifically about this sort of thing. Then people could choose whether or not to solicit critical feedback by tagging their photo appropriately. If you get anywhere with that let me know!
