Myself, wife and daughter haven't heard anything either so I suspect not.

FollowLifetime Membership
On Friday 2nd January, I received an email which said:-
"As a Lifetime Member, ... we want to give you a special Lifetime Membership to gift to one of these friends. We'll also run an exclusive competition just for you!
We'll be in touch next week with instructions on how to redeem this unique gift and with more information on our competition for Lifetime Members!"
I've heard nothing more about this and it's now beyond "next week". Have I missed out?

Nope, I haven't heard anything either. And in any case, I wasn't massively impressed that my 'special gift' was basically a way of blip gaining more members!
I thought this offer for lifetime members was rather an insult as it was of no benefit whatsoever to those people, and as you say @leasko it's a great way of gaining new blippers!
Was wondering about this too! Also heard nothing but, like leasko says, it is not really worth bothering about! :-(
Haven't heard anything either!
@jammy: If it ever materialises, I'm thinking of giving mine to a blipper who only has free membership! That way they gain something and Polaroid doesn't.
Good idea Veronica!
When it materialises obviously give it to who you consider will benefit most. Mine will go to a Grandchild!
However I fail to see how giving a membership to a new blipper makes Polaroid gain anything. They get no cash as the membership is free AND they are only partners not owners of blip.
I think we have been robbed!
Standard 'yearly' members have personally gained £25 (assuming they want to stay with the site now). Non paying members have gained £6.25 worth of membership. We have gained precisely nothing unless we can 'sell on' the free membership to someone who wants it (including saving money on a present that we would have had to buy).
Further more how many of us would have taken out 'Lifetime Membership' if we had known the site was going to change so much, or be taken over by Polaroid?
I trust that Blip, or perhaps we should say Polaroid have some good answers to this!
At £75 for life time membership I don't feel robbed. Most organisations I belong to want £500 - £1000 for life membership.
I don't also assume I will gain nothing long term all I know is that for the moment I have a gift I can give which will cost me nothing. I like that.
I would have paid my life membership even if I had known the site was going to change.
The site hasn't been taken over by Polaroid, that isn't what partnership means. If you describe somebody as your partner does that mean they have taken control of you. My partner (wife) certainly hasn't!
To close off this thread I should say that I received my email yesterday explaining how to give my gift of this special Lifetime Membership to a friend.
I'd better get on with it as the "unique gift" goes pop if it isn't redeemed by 30 January.
Redeem by 30th Jan 15 - that makes sure that not too many are given away.
In my book this just adds to the insult.
